Since its introduction into the world martial arts scene on the 1980’s Silat has built a reputation for being one of the most devastating complete martial arts in the world.
It hasn’t been watered down YET into a ring or sport competitive art like tea kwon do or a lot of karate. When I learned silat it was a complete effective fighting art covering all aspects of fighting - locking, throwing, grapping punching, kicking and a massive range of weapons from the keris and kerambit, to machete, stingray’s tail knife, and so many others.
Added to that with silat’s range of stances positions and footwork drills you wont find many places where you will get a better workout. It’s not as boring as going to the gym- which, lets face it, is as dull as it gets!!

In the first Silat DVD, we cover the fundamental components of silat - punches and kicks stances and footwork. Not to be underestimated, this is essential to master every martial art, so we teach it in detail to prevent you from injuring yourself, and enabling you to progress through the techniques we teach.
Many martial arts bounce around when they spar. In silat we think this is a waste of energy. When we fight we literally hunt you down like a leopard so our footwork is stealthy but fast and dynamic. It is evasive in case we are up against a more skilled or faster opponent. We say that if you’re not there he cant hit you so we learn to move to evade your attacks before attacking with overwhelming skills. Learn these drills in DVD 1..
You will also learn some excellent sensitivity and close range combat drills to work your hands and enable you to stay in the fight close up with confidence, and give it back when you want to.

DVD 1 is the foundation for the following 2 DVDs where we cover some silat principles of fighting in small spaces, and the deadly locking and striking techniques.
One aspect of silat is that the showing of the finishing blow, the killing strike, is considered vulgar. So in these DVDs because they will be available to the public without restraint, we have decided to adhere to the ethical principles of the art and not show the finishing blow but finish with a punch or restraint.
In DVD 2, Guru Glenn teaches you as if you were actually there!
Demonstrating a variety of devestating techniques, Guru Glenn shows you how to incorporate many principles. This is rarely done in great detail, but Guru Glenn has done this, making it very easy to follow
